Soccer For Both Youth And Adults At The Y This Fall
WARSAW — Registration for youth outdoor soccer runs until Aug. 11 for ages 3 to 6th grade at the Kosciusko Community YMCA. It’s easy to sign up and a membership to the Y is not required. The Y’s soccer program is a safe environment for children to learn practical and social skills and develop positive values. Modified rules and equipment will be used to ensure the greatest opportunity for your child to succeed.
The league offers four divisions, Division I for ages 3 to 4, Division II for those age 5 to 1st grade, Division III for those in 2nd and 3rd grade and Division IV for those in 4th-6th grade. Division III and IV will have a 45 minute weeknight practice on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Division I and II will practice before their game. Games will be played on Saturday mornings. Practices and games will be held at Harrison School sports fields. In addition to being a good opportunity for kids, soccer will also give parents an opportunity to take an active role as a volunteer coach.
Register at either of the YMCA branches or online at www.kcymca.org. Registration will be open until Aug. 11, with a late registration, including a late fee until Aug. 18. The first game will be Aug. 19 and the last Sept. 30.
The YMCA provides financial assistance for those who qualify. Please apply 3 weeks in advance. We want to make sure that your children can be involved in a program that will give them the opportunity for teamwork, activity and character development.
In addition to the Youth Soccer League, the Y will be offering an Adult Soccer League on Monday nights, 5:30-7:30 p.m. starting Aug. 14 until Oct. 9. Games will be 7-v-7 competitive soccer and are played at Harrison Elementary School. Register at the Welcome Center or by emailing [email protected] by Aug. 9.
