WARSAW — The Community Career Center will be holding many workshops throughout August. All events are free and open to the public and will be held at the Community Career Center, adjacent to the Goodwill Retail Store, 751 Anchorage Point Drive, Warsaw.

Updating Your Resume Workshop  

• Tuesday, Aug. 29 / 11 a.m. to noon

Have a resume that’s old, outdated and needs a facelift? In this alternating workshop we’ll review formatting, wording and key sections to highlight.  We’ll help you create a masterful, clean and robust resume that will give employers an impactful first impression of you and your skills.

The Goodwill Career Center will host open mock interviews for anyone who wants to practice their interview skills. If you’re nervous about having an interview, or struggling to land a job because of the interview phase, these mock sessions will prepare you for the types of questions that could be asked in an interview.  We’ll cover everything from basic and personal questions, to how to highlight your skills in the conversation. You’ll also learn how personal appearance makes a big difference in the impression you make.  How to Supplement Your Income

Do you want to find part time work, side jobs or work from home options to supplement your main stream of income?  This alternating workshop caters to your individual needs to make more money by searching for what additional work you may be interested in and best fits your schedule. We welcome you to participate in a casual, one on one setting that will find additional income avenues that can support your personal or family finances.

Granite Ridge Builders Guest Speaker

• Tuesday, Aug. 15 / 11:15 a.m. to noon

Dallas Barkman with Granite Ridge Builders will join us to present home financing options for rural areas including Warsaw and surrounding communities. His expertise includes building credit, housing for lower to medium income households, tax credits and government programs as well as 0 percent interest and down payments. He’ll also review financial / budgeting options, impulse buying and savings.

Veterans Employment Services

• Wednesday, Aug. 16 / 10 a.m. to noon

Daniel Reed from Work One will be at the Goodwill Career Center to provide information to Veterans on services in the local area.  He’ll discuss one-on-one employment help and employer resources.  He’ll also provide information about benefits and contacts for further services.

Job Fair 

• Wednesday, Aug. 23 / 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There are several companies with immediate openings that will be participating in this job fair. Employers include: Wildman, Flexaust, Panda Express, Home Helpers, Tecomet, Ruby Tuesday, Creighton Brothers and more. any of the companies will conduct interviews on the spot during the event. Interested candidates should dress professionally and bring a resume.
