Wawasee Golf: Raiders Lay Claim At Wawasee Invite
SYRACUSE – Northridge posted a 371 and had it’s ace, Braedyn O’Dell, pull medalist honors as the Raiders stood tall at the Wawasee Girls Golf Invite on Saturday.
It was a Northern Lakes Conference showcase of sorts as Northridge outdid Concord’s 390 for the team title while O’Dell won a playoff against Concord’s Lauren Boessler for the medalist honors. Both girls shot 80 in regulation, O’Dell shooting a 38 on the front side while Boessler had a 38 on the back nine, each going 42 in their respective other halves.
Ashley Brewster posted an 89, Cate Tompkins a 95 and Alayna Frey a 107 to comprise the Raiders’ top scores.
Lakeland was third at 393, Columbia City fourth at 402 and Wawasee fifth at 403 in the 12-team field. Rounding out the team scores were Fairfield (447), Elkhart Memorial (457), Westview (471), West Noble (477), Goshen (513), Whitko (513) and Mishawaka (584).
For Wawasee, Belle Brunner led the team with a 92 which landed her tied for seventh in the tournament. Zoe White had a 95, Jadison Rostochak had a 106 and Lesley Tatagua came in at 110.
For Whitko, Makayla Compton led the Wildcats with a 115, Bailey Wright had a 116 while Summer West was at 139 and Erin Starkweather posted a 143.
West Noble’s Hannah Godfrey was third overall in the tournament with an 83.
