Two Individuals Caught Dealing Methamphetamine Sentenced
WARSAW — Two individuals who were caught in separate instances dealing methamphetamine in 2016 were sentenced today, Aug. 14, in Kosciusko Circuit Court with Judge Duane Huffer presiding.
Abel Adrian Villegas, 28, 9838 E. King Arthur’s Road, Cromwell, was one of 14 individuals arrested on drug warrants served by Warsaw Police Narcotics Unit on Oct. 14, 2016 and charged with dealing in methamphetamine.
Documents state that in August 2016, Villegas, who is also shown with an address of 1108 Hickory St., Goshen, on court documents, sold methamphetamine, weighing more than 1 gram, to an individual for $250. The drug deal took place in Kosciusko County.
Whitney Lee Patterson, 30, 804 N. Mill St., Syracuse, was sentenced to a charge of dealing in methamphetamine. According to court documents around April 28, 2016 Patterson sold a plastic quarter bag containing a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. The drugs were purchased for $60 to an individual who met with her in a vehicle at a local grocery store.
Both individuals were sentenced to two years at the Indiana Department of Corrections. Patterson’s attorney, John Barrett, asked the court to recommend a form of treatment. The court recommended purposeful incarceration.
Villegas received 86 days jail time credit; Patterson received 34 days jail time credit.
Villegas’s sentence will be served consecutive to his sentences in three cases in Elkhart County.
