Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
9:11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, East CR 350N, west of North CR 100E, Warsaw. Driver: Charles A. Reuse, 76, North CR 175E, Warsaw. Reuse’s vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason, then went left of center and into a ditch hitting a tree. Damage up to $5,000.
7:59 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, South Detroit Street, south of East Prairie Street, Warsaw. Driver: John A. Slabaugh, 47, Fourth B Road, Nappanee. Slabaugh suffered an abrasion to the elbow/lower arm. Slabaugh was southbound on North Detroit Street at over 100 miles per hour. As he approached a right hand turn in the street, his vehicle continued straight into a parking lot due to excessive speed and collided in the woods, attempting to evade police. Damage up to $25,000.
2:55 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, West CR 1350N and North CR 75W, Milford. Driver: Shane A. Ketcham, 21, Short Street, Nappanee. Injured: Kelly S. Earl, 25, Short Street, Nappanee, a passenger in Ketcham’s vehicle, complained of pain to the neck. Ketchem was traveling east on CR 1350N in the area of CR 75W, when a vehicle pulled out in front of him causing him to run off the road to avoid the collision. Witnesses stated Ketcham had passed them at a high rate of speed before it ran off the road. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:38 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Brenda L. Baldridge, 59, East Market Street, Warsaw. Baldridge was attempting to park her vehicle but hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, hitting a handicapped parking sign. Damage up to $2,500.
5:01 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, US 30, east of Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Julie A. Smith, 54, North Dovewood trail, Warsaw; Candy L. Fields, 46, Heron Boulevard, Warsaw; Robin L. Stuart, 51, Deerfield Path, Warsaw; and Andrew N. Adams, 33, Harrison Street, Walkerton. Injured: Fields complained of pain to her neck and back and was taken to Parkview Hospital – Warsaw. A passenger in Fields’ vehicle, Willie G. Fields, 61, East CR 100S, Pierceton, complained of neck and stomach pain and was taken to Parkview Hospital – Warsaw. Stuart complained of pain to the head but refused medical treatment. Smith was eastbound on US 30 when traffic stopped suddenly in front of her. Her vehicle struck the back of the Fields vehicle, and the Stuart vehicle struck the back of the Smith vehicle. and the Stuart vehicle was struck in the back by the Adams vehicle. Damage up to $100,000.
9:06 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, North Buffalo Street, south of East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Perry L. Peoples, 61, Whiteheaven Road, Indianapolis. Peoples was turning left into the alley from Buffalo Street, swung wide to start his turn and made contract with a parked vehicle registered to Bradlee M. Quick, Bay Pines Court, Fort Wayne. Damage up to $10,000.
