NorthWood Tennis: Panthers To Hit The Road This Season
NAPPANEE – There will be no homecourt advantage so to speak for the NorthWood boys tennis team this season.
The Panthers, due to some drainage issues with the construction of new courts at the high school, will be forced to play all of its matches on the road.
NorthWood, which finished 6-11 in 2016, opened its season with a 3-2 loss at Jimtown Tuesday night.
The Panthers spent their preseason practices at Goshen College and now plan to practice during the season at NorthWood Middle School.
NorthWood is not the only team in the Northern Lakes Conference that will spend plenty of time traveling this fall. Concord’s new courts are also not ready yet so the Minutemen will either play on the road or use courts at Concord Junior High School for its home matches.
The Minutemen claimed both NLC and sectional titles in 2016 under coach Todd Denton.
Concord is hopeful that its new courts will be ready to host both the sectional and regional rounds of the state tournament series.
