Grace Volleyball: Zuidema, Hill Saluted By Conference
WINONA LAKE – A pair of Grace College volleyball players were honored by the Crossroads League after the first weekend of the year.
Kelsee Zuidema was named the league’s Attacker of the Week, and Alexa Hill earned Setter of the Week recognition.
The Lady Lancers went 3-1 at the Forester Invitational last weekend. Zuidema pounded out a tournament-high 59 kills at a .321 percentage (4.2 kills/set). She had at least five digs in every match.
Against Brescia, Zuidema had 22 kills with 9 digs. Her rate of 4.2 kills/set was the fifth-highest rate in the NAIA on opening weekend.
Hill averaged 10.4 assists/set in leading Grace to a 3-1 weekend. She racked up 60 assists in a comeback win over Brescia. Her 60 assists marked the most assists by a Lady Lancer in over a decade and are the most in recorded Grace history.
For the week, Hill also added 27 digs and 5 aces (including 4 against Brescia).
The Lady Lancers will host the Lancer Classic on Friday and Saturday at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center. Grace will host Lourdes and IU Kokomo on Friday, both teams who are receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25.
