Officer Spit On, Suspect Tasered
SYRACUSE — An officer attempting to make an arrest on two active warrants was spit on and had to use pepper spray and a Taser to handcuff the suspect in July.
Aarron Lee Warren, 27, who is shown with addresses of 207 N. East St., Milford, and 519 Harbour Landing Drive, Syracuse, was arrested by police Sunday, Aug. 20, on charges stemming from a July 10 incident in the county. He has been charged with battery by bodily waste, a level 6 felony and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor. He was also arrested on three outstanding warrants for failure to appear.
Documents filed with the court state police were called regarding a vehicle going through a neighborhood with its occupants yelling and screaming. When the officer arrived in the area, he observed several people standing in front of a residence. As he approached the driveway, one individual, identified as Warren, ran away. The officer learned there were active warrants for his arrest.
Warren was located shortly thereafter hiding under pine trees and refused to comply to police orders to exit the trees. Syracuse Police responded to the scene to assist and entered the pine trees to arrest Warren, when he resisted. While attempting to handcuff Warren he began spitting and spit on one of the Syracuse officers, striking him on the arm. Police used OC spray and a Taser to handcuff and arrest Warren.
