Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
1:28 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4, East CR 700N and North CR 300E, Leesburg. Driver: Alecia J. Ceballos, 42, Pike Shore Drive, Warsaw. Ceballos swerved to miss an animal in the roadway and hit a guardrail along the road. Damage up to $10,000.
2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, South SR 15, east of West CR 300S, Warsaw. Drivers: Milford E. Stephens, 69, West Justus Stephens Lane, Claypool, and Jessica L. Espinoza, 21, West Jackson Street, Mentone. Stephens failed to see the Espinoza vehicle and drove into the intersection causing the vehicles to collide. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:14 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, East Jefferson Street, north of South McKinley Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Megan K. Harris, 19, South CR 25W, Lewisville, and Rocio T. Gutierrez, 30, East US 30 No. 96, Pierceton. Harris stopped at the intersection and saw the Gutierrez vehicle, but started into the intersection too early and hit the rear tire of the Gutierrez. Gutierrez was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Damage up to $5,000.
5:49 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, Maple Street, south of Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: David W. Neff, 53, East Market Street, Warsaw, and Sophia M. Parke, 17, East Market Street, Warsaw. Neff was backing from his driveway and Parke was backing out of a parking area across the street at the same time, causing the vehicles to collide. Damage up to $2,500.
2:06 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, North Parker Street, north of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jaron K. Mullet, 18, West CR 1000N, Nappanee, and Todd M. Gearhart, 44, East CR 1200S, Claypool. Mullet’s vehicle struck the back of the Gearhart vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
5:49 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, South Lake Street, north of West Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Pamela S. Tom, 63, East Walnut Street, Warsaw, and Lourdes R. Lopez, 49, South Union Street, Warsaw. Tom was backing her vehicle from an alley and did not see the Lopez vehicle traveling on South Lake Street. Damage up to $2,500.
