Etna Green Man Arrested For Domestic Battery Against Previous Victim
ETNA GREEN — An Etna Green man was arrested for domestic battery against a previous victim who had a protective order against him. A child also accused the man of punching him in the head.
Travis Michael Dickson, 32, 129 E. Spring St., Etna Green, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; two counts of domestic battery, class A misdemeanors; and invasion of privacy, a class A misdemeanor.
The original domestic battery case occurred on April 3. Due to this case, a no contact order was issued for Dickson against the victim. The order was served to him in open court and advised he could have no contact with the victim.
An affidavit of probable cause on the newest charges was filed Sept. 6. The information states that on Aug. 11, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic battery in progress in Etna Green. The officer arrived and was met outside by a minor whose face was red and puffy. The child advised he heard his mother scream for help so he ran to the bedroom and observed Dickson holding her down on the floor.
According to the child, his mother attempted to get up and Dickson put his knee on her face to hold her down. The child attempted to pull Dickson away from his mother and Dickson punched him in the head. The child ran from the room and called 911. Dickson followed the child and attempted to cut the telephone cord. At this time, the victim collapsed on the floor and began having a seizure.
Another minor child was present at the residence when the incident occurred and also provided the same information to officers.
The officers then spoke with the victim who had a laceration to the right side of her neck. She denied being battered and stated she had fallen.
A witness to the incident advised she observed Dickson punch the victim in the face.
The officer then spoke with Dickson. He advised the victim was angry when he arrived home and she attacked him. He told officers he put the victim into a therapeutic hold and she bit him. According to Dickson, the minor child then put him into a headlock and he struggled to remove himself from the headlock while the victim continued to bite him.
Dickson was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 12 with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
