Nancy L. Kuhn
Nancy L. Kuhn, 69, of Rochester, passed away at 3:07 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017 at the home of her son.
On December 29, 1947, Nancy Lee Swick was born in Kosciusko County. She was a treasured daughter of Claude and Fern Warren Swick. As one of the ten Swick children, growing up as the eighth born, she shared her childhood with six brothers and three sisters. With great Flyer pride, Nancy graduated from Akron High School with the class of 1965.
On August 8, 1966, in Fulton County, Nancy married Michael Kuhn. From their union came three handsome sons. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations. They later separated and divorced.
With a strong work ethic Nancy was employed with Torin, Brookside and then Lau, retiring in the late 90’s. She also enjoyed working at Rochester’s original Wal-Mart. Over the years Nancy tended the bar at the Manitou VFW #1343, the Eagles lodge and the Leroy Shelton American Legion Post # 36. A women with a helping heart and warm personality, her favorite work stint was with Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw as a certified nursing assistant. She was a member of the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary.
With a love for the outdoors, Nancy liked flower gardening, annually planting flowers to enhance the landscape of her home. Her favorite flower was bright and vibrant lilies. To relax, a side of her adventure was present. She joined her oldest son on his motorcycle to enjoy the feeling of freedom while catching the breeze and listening to AC/DC. Paramount in her life was her grandchildren and the great-grands. Their visits, family celebrations and holiday gatherings were second to none.
Left to cherish Nancy’s memory are three sons: James Kuhn and wife Betsy of Rochester, Brian Kuhn and wife Jami of Jacksonville N.C., Jeff Kuhn of Rochester; nine grandchildren: Eric Kuhn, Ashley Kuhn, Kaitlin Kuhn, Jana Kuhn, Amanda Barnes, Louis B. Peradotto IX, Hillary Peradotto, David Kuhn, Cassidy Kuhn; six great grandchildren: Breydon Adkins, Kaydence Kuhn, twins Jonathan and James Hilton, Laila Peradotto, Louis B. Peradotto X and two more blessings to arrive, Baby Kora due in October and another due in February 2018; two sisters: Arlene Miller of Warsaw, Marilyn Collins and husband Jim of Rochester; five brothers: Frank Swick and wife Judy of Palestine Lake, Ronnie Swick and wife Caroline of Burket, Macks Swick and wife Donna of Warsaw, David Swick and wife Tammy of Mentone, Mark Swick and wife Valerie of FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Nancy in death are her parents, husband, an infant sister, Phyllis and a brother Eldon.
A private family celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at a later date.
