Claypool Council Sets Trick-or-Treat Hours
CLAYPOOL — Business was short at the monthly Claypool council meeting Sept. 18. With fall right around the corner, the council discussed the necessities.
Trick-or-treating for the town of Claypool will take place 6-8 p.m. on Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31.
With leaves about to fall, the council wants to remind people that leaves are to be bagged in garbage bags. “But not so full the guys can’t lift them,” said President Niki Miller.
Water and street superintendents Gene and Danny Warner will be flushing hydrants starting Thursday of this week, Sept. 21. Residents may experience a dip in pressure while this is happening.
In other business:
- Town Marshal Dalis Owens has resigned and returned to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department. Ben Sanders has been appointed the position and will be at the next council meeting.
- A budget meeting has been set for council members for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28.
- Kelsey Wertenberger of 103 N. Rebecca St., Claypool, was present to ask about the possibility of getting curbside recycling bins. Clerk-treasurer Pat Warner will be calling waste management to discuss the possibility.
- Wertenberger also asked about regulations when putting in a fence. The council stated that this goes through the county area planning, who regulates that anything under 6 feet doesn’t need special permissions.
