Practice Interviews
- Mondays, Oct. 2-30 / 11 a.m. to noon
The Goodwill Career Center will be hosting open mock interviews for anyone who wants to practice their interview skills. If you’re nervous about having an interview, or struggling to land a job because of the interview phase, these mock interviews will help prepare you for the types of questions that could possibly be asked in an interview – from basic and personal questions, to how to highlight your skills in the conversation. The event will cover how personal appearance makes a big difference in an interview. Please drop by between 11 a.m. and noon to practice your interview skills and receive a 25 percent discount shopping coupon to the Goodwill retail store.
Coffee & Conversation

Stop in, get a cup of coffee and discuss anything career related with our staff. The event can guide you in the right direction towards a possible career path, part time side work, volunteer opportunities, or simply provide you with motivation to take the next step in your life.
Computer & the Internet 101
- Wednesday, Oct. 4 / 11 a.m. to noon
The Computer & The Internet 101 workshop is for beginners. Participants will learn the basics to running a computer, ports & buttons, what’s inside and what an operating system is. Participants will also learn how to navigate the internet, apps, the cloud, and more.
Excel for Starters
- Tuesday, Oct. 10 and Thursday, Oct. 12 / 11 a.m. to noon
This is a two-class event that will guide you through several tutorials on Excel’s basic functions and tools. The class will cater to those seeking introductory Excel knowledge, as well as those who want to further their Excel abilities. The event will cover Excel’s essential tools, then work our way up to formatting and designing a standard spreadsheet with information.
Modernizing Your Skills
Wednesday, Oct. 11 / 11 a.m. to noon
Learn how to highlight your skills and add to them to market yourself for the competitive and ever changing workforce landscape. The event will focus on technical skills, like helping you become comfortable on the computer and learning how to manage digital information. You’ll also learn how to research job openings, positions and companies. It will help you become more detail oriented and even communicate more effectively. Whatever your skill set, this workshop is designed to update your abilities and adapt them to the current and future workforce environment.
Veterans Employment Services
- Wednesday, Oct. 18 / 10 a.m. to noon
Daniel Reed from Work One will be at the Goodwill Career Center to provide information for veterans on services in the area with one-on-one employment help. She’ll also provide employer resources, information on benefits and contacts for additional services.
Master the Online Application
- Wednesday, Oct. 18 / 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Do you have trouble applying online? Frustrated by not knowing your way around a computer and filling out applications that have moved online? The Warsaw Goodwill Career Center will help you become more comfortable with online applications. The event will provide you with a general test application and / or will help you through any online applications you’re interested in. It will also provide pointers to help you fill out the application faster.
Email & Digital Communication

Learn how to set up and access your e-mail, create an account recovery system using your cell phone or another email account. Learn how to navigate your email, create folders, save messages and more.
