UPDATE: Friday’s Head-On Collision On North Detroit Street, Warsaw
WARSAW — Two people were injured after a woman with a blood sugar level of 27 was driving in the wrong lane of traffic on Friday, Oct. 6.
Jessica Bruce, 42, Silver Lake, was driving her Toyota Camry on North Detroit Street in Warsaw. According to witnesses, she was driving in the wrong lane of traffic, towards oncoming vehicles.
Herbert Teeter, 77, Winona Lake, was driving his Honda Pilot northbound. His passenger, Barbara Teeter, noticed Bruce’s vehicle traveling in the same lane of traffic towards them. Herbert Teeter was unable to avoid the collision and the front end of his vehicle was struck by Bruce’s vehicle. Barbara Teeter was transported from the scene with chest and leg pain.
Bruce stated that the last thing she recalls is being in the Walmart parking lot. The next thing she remembered, she was waking up inside an ambulance. She was transported from the scene for diabetic complications and chest pain.
