K21 Renews Support for LIVESTRONG At The YMCA
KOSCIUSKO — Since February 2016, the Kosciusko Community YMCA has offered the nationally recognized LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA program for people affected by cancer.
This evidence-based 12-week physical activity and wellbeing program is designed to help survivors both during and after cancer treatment to remain active in a safe and supportive environment. Recognizing the incredible impact the program has on survivors and their families, K21 Health Foundation recently renewed its support of the program by awarding a grant of $22,500 to the Y.
“K21 was very excited to begin a partnership with the Y to offer this fantastic program to so many in our community who are struggling with cancer,” explained K21 President & CEO Rich Haddad. “In the past two years, the program has exceeded our expectations and has continued to grow, offering more opportunities for patients in our community to maintain healthy lifestyles, even while dealing with a cancer diagnosis.”
“We are very thankful to the K21 Health Foundation for their willingness to continue to support the LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA. It is a privilege and an honor to help cancer survivors and their families begin to heal and reclaim their health,” said Kosciusko Community YMCA CEO Jim Swanson. “It is amazing to watch this transformation within our building, and we are thankful for the opportunity to serve.”
