Royce Maynard
Royce J. Maynard, 34, Pierceton, passed away at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, on Oct. 27, 2017, at 11:40 a.m.
Born on Dec. 26, 1982 in Columbia City, Royce was the child of Royce L. Maynard and Lena (Roger) West.
Facing many obstacles in life, Royce didn’t let them stop him from achieving his goals. In 2001 he graduated from Warsaw High School. Royce loved balloons and horses, but most of all he enjoyed life. You could always catch Royce with a smile on his face. He loved his family and especially his grandpa. Royce also loved watching westerns and superheroes. Although he never knew it, he was a superhero to all those around him.
Royce is survived by his mother, Lena West, and step-father, Roger West, both of Pierceton; four brothers, Roger (Rhonda) West, Roann, Jerry (Lana) West, South Whitley, Bill West, Warsaw, and John West, Pierceton; two sisters, Ashley Maynard, Pierceton, and Elizabeth (Alex) Clark, Winona Lake and Laura Moore, Royce’s nurse, who he considered to be a sister and part of the family. He is preceded in death by his father, Royce L. Maynard.
Family and friends may call Monday, Oct. 30, from 4-7 p.m. at Free United Baptist Church, State Road 13, Sidney, Indiana and calling one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 31, beginning at 11 a.m. at Free United Baptist Church, Sidney. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton. Pastor War Allen, Pastor James Rowe, and Pastor Willie Collins will officiate.
