Myers Named Vice President Of Product Development
WARSAW — WishBone Medical Inc., a new pediatric orthopedic company in Warsaw, announced Reese Myers has taken on the role of vice president of product development. Reese will be responsible for product development and commercialization and will work closely with WishBone’s engineering and marketing departments to coordinate market strategy.
He will also collaborate closely with other WishBone team members to define the strategic direction of the organization and to drive business growth.
Reese’s career in the medical field began as a certified surgical technologist in 1981 working for the highly-skilled and dedicated team at Ortho Indy, primarily at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis, where he assisted on a wide variety of orthopedic procedures including sports medicine, spine, joint replacement, trauma, hand, pediatric and general cases during a 12 year period.
After completing a BSME at IUPUI in 1993, Reese began his medical device career in Warsaw as a design engineer with Othy – now part of Tecomet. During more than 23 years there, he held numerous positions in product development, as marketing director for the Symmetry Surgical energy portfolio, and innovation/technology management with experience licensing and on-boarding products and technologies from external sources. Reese holds numerous patents, some of which are assigned to orthopedic OEM companies.
WishBone Medical was founded by Nick Deeter, a leader in pediatric orthopedics. WishBone is a Warsaw-based pediatric orthopedic company focused on the unmet needs of children suffering from orthopedic issues. WishBone’s commitment is to provide anatomically appropriate innovative implants and instruments in sterile packed, single use, disposable kits with an emphasis to minimize disease, prevent infection, reduce overall costs for our customers and to achieve the best outcomes for children who are still growing, because kids are not just little adults.
“I’m excited to join WishBone Medical’s experienced and dedicated team. I’m also looking forward to working with surgeons and the WishBone team to develop innovative products that will improve the lives of pediatric patients around the world,” said Myers. “Children are the most vulnerable patients, deserving of the special focus and compassion placed on them by pediatric orthopedic surgeons and caregivers every day.”
“Reese brings a tremendous amount of medical device industry experience to our team,” said Deeter, chairman of the board and CEO of WishBone Medical. “We are very glad to have him at WishBone Medical to serve as our lead on the product development team.”
Reese and his wife, Mickey, reside in rural Whitley County. Their son and his family live in Lafayette, Colo., while their daughter and her family live in Columbia City.
