Board Of Public Works Opens Bids For Sewer Rehabilitation Project
WARSAW — The city of Warsaw continues to tackle the sewage system and is propelling ahead in its game plan. The Board of Public Works and Safety read through the bids for the Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation project during its meeting today, Nov. 3.
The board received a total of 15 bids for three different portions of the project. For the Sewer Replacement portion of the project, Selge Construction Company from Niles, Mich., put in the lowest bid at $1,006,257.01, while G&G Hauling and Excavating and HRP Construction settled in the $1.3 million range.
The small diameter portion of the project received bid ranging from $3.3 million to nearly $4 million with Benchmark Construction from Illinois submitting a $3,973,201.60 bid. Lanes Inliner submitted the lowest bid for the small diameter portion at $3,313,874.50, underbidding the next offer by over $50,000.
For the large diameter portion, Benchmark Construction once again submitted the highest bid with $3,850,145, overbidding all the other bids by at least one million dollars. The majority of bids settled between 2.5 million and 2.7 million while Michels Corporation outbid the rest with $2,091,618.45.
The board accepted the bids and will be awarded at further date.
