Valley Girls Swimming: Lady Vikings Open With Win
AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley’s girls swim team opened the season with a 101-68 home win over visiting Knox Monday night.
The Lady Vikings claimed wins in nine of 12 total events, including all three relays en route to the convincing win.
Mayde Fear, Shelby Baker, Olivia Livengood and Jerzey Conley combined to win the medley relay in 2:15.78, while Tahya Lybarger, Ava Craig, Haley Baker and Chloe Hostetler clocked 2:15.15 in the 200 free relay for first place there, and Conley, Livengood, Fear and Baker all earned another relay victory with a 4:35.48 time in the 400 free relay.
Fear also claimed top finishes in both the 100 free and the backstroke with respective times of 1:06.2 and 1:13.65, while Livengood earned first in the Individual Medley with a 2:37.35 stop and the butterfly with a 1:14.73 time as each collected top honors in all four of their races.
Hostetler won the 200 free in 2:47.38. Tiphanie Hodge scored 134.45 to win an uncontested diving competition for the Vikings.
Valley isn’t scheduled to be back in action until a home meet with Wabash Nov. 30.
