Valley Girls Basketball: Miller Pours It On As Vikings Rout Braves
AKRON — Addy Miller poured in 25 points to lead four Tippecanoe Valley players in double figures, and the Class 3A No. 5 Lady Vikings bounced back from their first loss of the season with a dominant 76-15 win over winless Maconaquah at home Tuesday.
Miller knocked down 7 of 9 3-pointers on her way to the game-high points production, while junior Sophie Bussard finished with 12, Makenzie Woodcox scored 11, and Olivia Trippiedi finished with 10 points for Valley (4-1), which led 42-7 at the half following a scoreless second quarter by the Braves (0-5).
Trippiedi also finished with six steals to lead a Vikings defense that forced 25 Maconaquah turnovers, and she tallied four assists behind Emily Peterson’s game-high six. Woodcox notched a double-double with 10 rebounds in the win.
Ashley Jess scored five points with five rebounds for the Braves.
Valley hosts a four-team tournament Saturday opening with a game between Goshen and the host Vikings at 10:30 a.m. and continuing with a Bremen-Whitko contest at 11:45 a.m. The losers play at 6:15 p.m., and the championship is slated for 8 p.m.
