Couple Facing Battery Charges After Domestic Dispute
WARSAW — Criminal charges have been filed after a husband and wife got into an altercation in the presence of three minors, one being under 16.
Jennifer Rene Moran, 39, and Pablo Gonzales, 38, 2223 W. Jefferson St., Warsaw, are both facing charges for domestic battery in the presence of a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
The affidavit of probable cause filed Nov. 17 states that an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a domestic battery at the Jefferson Street home on Nov. 11. When the officer arrived to the home he found the door ajar and observed no one inside. Seeing a light coming from a bathroom, the officer knocked on the door and Moran exited the bathroom with three children.
The officer observed that Moran’s face was red from crying and she had swelling under her right eye and on her upper lip. The officer believes Moran as struck multiple times.
Moran advised that she had gotten into an argument with Gonzales and that he had left. She made no further comment regarding her injuries.
The officer then spoke with Gonzales who advised that Moran had gotten upset and struck him on the head with a toy or other item, causing a lump and pain. Gonzales advises that he had to physically restrain Moran.
The officer observed swelling and a red mark on Gonzales’s head.
