Girls Basketball
Wawasee added a huge home win to its résumé Thursday night with a 67-35 romp of South Bend Adams at the Hardwood TeePee.
Wawasee had its shooting form from the beginning, hitting eight field goals in the first quarter, spreading out a 19-6 lead. By halftime, it was 37-16 lead and two players were in double figures, Casey Schroeder with 11 of her 16 points and Aubrey Kuhn with 12 of her 15 points.
Hannah-Marie Lamle would add 11 points and Caitlin Wortinger chipped in nine points and six rebounds.
Adams (0-7) had eight players score, but Loryn Higginbotham’s seven points was the highest anyone got.
Wawasee doubled up Adams in the JV game, 48-24. Morgan Adkins led the way with 10 points while Rhian Galloway and Abby Steiner came in at nine points apiece.
Wawasee moves to 5-3 on the season and next faces its biggest test to date, a home matchup Tuesday with Northern Lakes Conference defending champion Northridge.
Boys Basketball
The freshman hoops squad from Wawasee moved to 3-0 on the season with a 38-26 win over Central Noble.
Kameron Salazar led the way for the Warriors with 14 points while Adam Beer and Ethan Carey provided support with 10 and six points, respectively.
Wawasee is back in business Saturday at Westview.
