Valley Boys Basketball: Vikings Fall To Tigers In TRC Opener
AKRON — A week after capturing its first win, Tippecanoe Valley’s boys basketball team couldn’t make it two straight in a 60-36 loss to visiting Peru Tuesday night.
The Vikings (1-4) converted just 15 of 53 (28.3 percent) of its shots, including only 2 of 19 (10.5 percent) of its attempts from beyond the arc. Peru scored at a nearly 62 percent (21 of 34) clip, meanwhile, and got 34 points in the paint.
Alex Morrison dropped 22 points on 10-of-19 shooting and added 11 rebounds for the home team, but he couldn’t keep pace with three Tigers in double figures in Valley’s Three Rivers Conference-opener.
Fuller scored 15, Gysin put up 12, and Majors finished with 11 for Peru (2-3), which led 19-7 at the first quarter break.
Valley continues TRC play at Whitko Friday night with varsity tip-off slated for 7:45 p.m.
