McClone Saluted For Academic Achievement
INDIANAPOLIS – Former Warsaw football standout Tristan McClone is one of three Marian University players honored as NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes.
McClone was a senior defensive back for the Knights this past season. The 6-0, 220-pounder played in all 10 games and had 16 tackles.
McClone was a star tailback at WCHS for coach Phil Jensen’s program. He holds numerous school records, including yards in a season, yards in a game and touchdowns in a game. McClone, the son of Cassie and Dustin McClone, was also a track standout for the Tigers.
A student-athlete in order to be nominated for the honor must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
Also honored from the Knights were Austin Ginther and Nick Maines.
Marian finished 7-3 during the 2017 season.
