Charles “Charlie” Lantz, 88, Syracuse, passed away Dec. 23, 2017, at Doctors Hospital in Bremen.

He was born May 5, 1929, in Elkhart County to Wilbur Homer and Dolla (Long) Lantz.

On Dec. 3, 1949 he married Rosemary Hummell who preceded him in 2016. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was employed by Liberty Homes, as well as Commodore Homes where he retired.

He is survived by his brother: Robert Lantz, Syracuse; his granddaughter: Jamie (Ben) Parish, Howe; two step-granddaughters: Chastity Brickey, Syracuse; and Christina (Shane) Barhydt, Ligonier; five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one nephew: Michael (Ausra) Lantz, Port St Lucie, Fla.

He was preceded by his wife, two sons, Tim and Greg, and one brother and two sisters.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 29, at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Calling will be two hours prior to the service from noon until 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Syracuse cemetery.
