Learn More About 4-H At Open House
WARSAW — Attention elementary, middle and high school students. Do you go to the fair every July and love seeing the projects or petting the animals? Well, now is your chance to get in on the action and see why 4-H is the club for you.
A Kosciusko County 4-H open house is taking place on Jan. 13 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Home and Family Arts Building at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds. It is a free event open to families with school-aged youth to see what 4-H has to offer and all the life skills gained while participating.
At the open house, interactive hands-on exhibits will be showcased with animal projects including rabbits, goats and dogs. Get a chance to explore non-animal projects, too, with hands-on crafts and Lego activities. Learn more about 4-H engineering project opportunities with our robotics club and explore special 4-H projects that could help you develop a career as a chef or firefighter. The 4-H Shooting Sports Immersion Trailer, where you can actually shoot targets, will also be set up.
Current nine year 4-H member Valerie Messmore says, “4-H has had a great impact on my life. I am grateful to be able to give back to the community and promote this powerful youth organization.”
“While participating in 4-H I’ve made new friends, created connections within the community, and learned new skills that I will use for the rest of my life,”said Sarah Tucker, another nine year 4-H member.
In agreeance, Hannah Jansma, another nine year member also notes, “4-H has taught me many life skills such as responsibility and has shown me the impact the organization as a whole can have on youth from such a young age.”
Jansma, Tucker and Messmore, along with other leaders and mentors will be available to answer questions at the open house. For more information visit the Kosciusko County 4-H Open House Facebook page or enroll at in.4H.online.com.
