Warsaw Basketball: Frosh Teams Earn Victories
WARSAW – The Warsaw freshman basketball teams returned to action in winning fashion Thursday night.
Both the boys and girls frosh teams defeated visiting Northridge in Northern Lakes Conference play.
The boys squad dominated play to top the Raiders by a 55-17 final.
Warsaw outscored the Raiders 17-2 in the second quarter to take control en route to its eighth straight win.
Luke Adamiec led the way with 12 points as all 10 players scored for the Tigers.
Brock Poe had 11 points and the trio of Ben Bergen, Bishop Walters and Caleb Sands each scored six points as Warsaw improved to 9-2 overall and moved to 3-0 in NLC play.
The Warsaw girls team turned to its defense to edge past Northridge 22-19.
The hosts allowed just six second-half points to the Raiders and outscored their guests 8-1 in the key third quarter to take the lead. Warsaw trailed 13-9 at halftime of the contest.
Lindsey Bradley led the way for the winners with 12 points. Ema Jenkins and Ashley Diecks each added four points for the Tigers.
Both Warsaw teams are slated to play at Goshen next Thursday at 7 p.m.
