Dennis Eugene Holder Sr.
Dennis Eugene Holder Sr., 69, passed away at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was born Feb. 2, 1948 in Kokomo to Frederick Levi and Barbara Jean (Knight) Holder.
He graduated in 1966 from Western High School in Kokomo, received his BA and Master’s degree from Ball State University in Muncie. He served in the United States Air Force. He retired as a Health and Physical Education teacher and coach. He formerly taught at Western High School in Kokomo, Connersville High School, Kokomo High School, South Bend Adams High School and Polk State College in Winter Haven, Fla. He was formerly the pool director at Warsaw High School for several years. He grew up in Kokomo, lived in the Warsaw area from 1988 until 2009 when he moved to Florida and Tennessee.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Jeb) Freeman, Milford; two sons: Joel (Tanya) Holder, Leesburg; Dennis (Shawnee) Holder Jr., Lemon Grove, Calif.; eight grandchildren; father, Fred (Bea) Holder, Fort Myers, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 2–4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw.
Burial will take place at a later date at Marion National Cemetery.
