The Gallery At Rua Announces New Timothy W. Young Exhibit, Artist Reception
WARSAW — The New Year brings a new art exhibit to the gallery at rua located in the Brennan Room of Warsaw’s restaurant Rua. The new exhibition is entitled “Past the Horizon- a Mini-Retrospective by Timothy W. Young,” and is open from Tuesday, Jan. 16 through Feb. 24, with a public Artist Reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20.
Young is a contemporary American artist born in Columbus, Ohio and a long-time resident of Warsaw. His work has been exhibited in galleries and cultural centers throughout the United States including the Midwest Museum of American Art, Schumacher Gallery, Graham Center Museum, The Paul Mellon Arts Center and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition, his works are in private collections throughout the United States.
Young received a M.F.A. from Miami University, Oxford and a B.F.A. from Bowling Green State University. He also studied at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, Spain. Young has been associate professor of art at Grace College and Malone University, Ohio.
His exhibit at the gallery at rua will feature selected oil paintings and drawings from past and present, and the unveiling of his new piece, “Whispers from Myrtle Beach.” All works will be for sale.
Rua is located at 108 E. Market St., in downtown Warsaw and serves a unique menu of internationally inspired street food. They offer casual dining and a full bar, a private event space in the Brennan Room and catering.
This is the second exhibit offered by ‘the gallery at rua,’ which is planning future shows on an on-going basis featuring various artists from Northern Indiana, the Midwest and beyond.
