Vicki L. Carlson, 68, LaFontaine, passed away at 6 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Rolling Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Center, LaFontaine. She was born March 19, 1949, in Wabash to the late Floyd and Betty (Stout) Richwine.

Carlson was a 1967 graduate of Wabash High School. She married Richard Carlson on June 15, 1968. Carlson was the Liberty Township Trustee for ten years and worked at Clark’s Tin Shop in LaFontaine for twenty years. Most recently she worked for Schlemmer Brothers in Wabash. Carlson was also a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Sweetser. She was known for always meeting you with a friendly smile.

Along with her husband, Carlson is survived by one son, Richard (Erin) Carlson, II, Lebanon; one daughter, Dawn (Michael) Mattingly, St. Petersburg, Fla.; three grandchildren: Richard Carlson, III, Grace Carlson and Gabriella Carlson, all of Lebanon. She is preceded in death by her brother, Todd Richwine.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, IN 46940 with Pastor Terry Bisher officiating. Burial will follow at the IOOF LaFontaine Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, at the funeral home.
