Green Arrested After Failing To Return To Work Release
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — A Syracuse woman who failed to return to work release in July is now back in jail facing charges of failure to appear and failure to return to lawful detention.
Shawnee Ann Green, 47, with addresses of 321 N. Maple Ave., Warsaw, and 519 Inwood Circle, Syracuse, was arrested Wednesday afternoon on the two charges. Bond has been set at $10,250 surety and cash.
County officials filed an affidavit of probable cause Sept. 18, 2017, regarding her failure to return to work release.The document states April 17, 2017, Green was convicted of possession of precursors in Whitley County and July 3, 2017, the court had no objection to her serving the remaining portion of her sentence in any program authorized by the Whitley County Community Corrections Department. Green was accepted in the Kosciusko County Work Release Center and was allowed to serve the remainder of her sentence there.
Documents state Green was to return to the center following each shift at AIA Countertops, Syracuse, by 12:10 a.m. However, July 15, 2017, she failed to return. Court documents indicate Dec. 18, 2017, she contacted the court and notified them she was currently residing at the Indiana Women’s Prison, Indianapolis, and was returned to the county for the local charges.
