BREAKING: Home Destroyed By Fire
SYRACUSE — The occupant and her dog were able to escape with only the clothes on their back when a fire broke out at the residence shortly after 1 a.m. today, Friday, Jan. 26.
Turkey Creek Fire Territory was called to 12650 N. Rainey Road West, Syracuse. The initial call was there were flames coming from the car port, however, when firefighters arrived the attached car port and home were fully engulfed in flames.
According to information at the scene, Roxanne Arnott, occupant of the home, was awakened by her dog to the fire. The Kosciusko County GIS Map shows the home is owned by Joseph R. Kumstar and was built in 1948.
Bentown Township and North Webster fire departments were called for a full assist with Milford Fire Department responding with a tanker.
The home has been completely destroyed.
