Valley Basketball: Vikings Fall To Couriers
GOSHEN – The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team dropped a 50-40 final at Clinton Christian Saturday night.
The host Couriers used a big night from the free throw line to earn the victory. The hosts connected on 22-32 from the stripe, while the Vikings were 9-16 from the line.
Clinton led 12-5 after the opening period and 20-13 at halftime en route to the win.
Tanner Trippiedi led the way for Valley with 13 points. Alex Morrison had a strong game with nine points and nine rebounds for the Vikings.
Jace Potter netted nine points and Cam Parker added five for Valley, which suffered its eighth straight loss.
Valley shot 14-41 overall from the field, including 3-11 from distance.
Seth Shetler went 9-11 from the line and scored a game-high 17 points to pace Clinton Christian, which won for the seventh time in its last eight games. Caleb Schrock drained 7-10 free throws and had 15 points for the Couriers.
Clinton Christian, which improves to 12-6, hit 13-33 shots in the win from the field and were 2-8 from 3-point range.
Valley (2-13) plays at Wabash Thursday night. Clinton Christian hosts Benton Home School on Friday night.
