John J. Whybrew — UPDATED
John J. Whybrew, 65, Kendallville, passed away at 1:06 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. He was born on March 3, 1952 in Mishawaka to John E. and Beverly J. (Brugh) Whybrew.
He graduated in 1971 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse and was married on August 15, 1998 to Patricia “Patti” Czuj, who survives. He was formerly employed at Dana Corporation in Syracuse for 23 years. He lived most of his life in the Syracuse area and lived in Michigan before moving to Kendallville a year ago.
He was member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #253 in North Webster.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Whybrew; son, Ryan (Hannah) Whybrew; daughter, Casey Czuj; two sisters, Vickie (Robert) Preston and Sherry (Al) Anders; a niece, Tammy Floyd; a brother-in-law, Larry Riedenbach; three stepbrothers, Mark (Audry) Parr, Andrew (Beth) Stevens Jr. and Nicholas (Nancy) Stevens; as well as lifelong friends, Rick & Mitzi Reber.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepsister, Leslie Reidenbach.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. No services are planned. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
