Robertson To Retire As President Of KEDCo In 2018
KOSCIUSKO — Although an official public announcement has not yet been made, George Robertson, president of Kosciusko Economic Development Corp., will be retiring at the end of 2018.
Robertson is the first full-time CEO of KEDCo. When Robertson arrived, in 2010, Kosciusko County’s unemployment rate was at 13.5 percent. By the end of 2015, the unemployment rate in the county was 4 percent.
Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation was formed in 1984 to promote economic and community development in Kosciusko County. According to Robertson, he is most proud of the effort the company has put into supporting existing local businesses during his time as president.
Under Robertson’s leadership, Kosciusko County developed a business retention program as well as a disadvantaged business loan program, along with implementing a new web presence.
The KEDCO board has initiated a search for Robertson’s replacement with a goal of bringing someone on board relatively soon in order to assure an effective transition.
