Warsaw Community Career Center’s March Events
WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Career Center will host the following events in March. The Career Center is adjacent to the Goodwill retail store at 751 Anchorage Point Drive, Warsaw. All Career Center Events are free and open to the public.
Using A Computer Mouse
- Tuesday, March 6 — 11 a.m. to noon
Using a computer mouse is the gateway to navigating a computer’s capabilities. This hands-on workshop will introduce the mouse functions, get you moving around the screen, teach you easy to use tricks that can save you time from simply scrolling, to copying and pasting, to dragging and highlighting. All skill levels are invited, and if you’ve already got the mouse covered? No worries, we’ll dig into whatever other computer and digital skills you want to obtain.
Building A Résumé
- Wednesday, March 7 — 11 a.m. to noon
Need a résumé or have one that’s old, outdated, or just needs a little more juice? This workshop focuses on giving you the tools and advice to spruce up that sheet of paper to attract more attention. We will also take time to lay the foundation for a brand new résumé for those who do not have one. We’ll review formatting, wording, key sections to highlight, and overall organization to create a masterful, clean, and robust resume. You’ll give an employer the right impression of you, your skills and past contributions.
Open Practice Interviews

The Goodwill Career Center will host open mock interviews for anyone who wants to practice their interview skills. If you’re nervous about having an interview or struggling to land a job because of the interview phase, these mock interviews will prepare you for the types of questions that could be asked. We’ll cover basic and personal questions, to how to highlight your skills during the conversation. We’ll also discuss how to not appear nervous or unprepared, how to address difficult questions, what to avoid and what not to say. You’ll learn how personal appearance makes a big difference in an interview as well. Uploading And Attaching Documents Online
- Tuesday, March 13 — 11 a.m. to noon
The Goodwill Career Center will teach you how to send a document to yourself, then use it as an attachment. We’ll also show you how to download attachments from online or through your e-mail. You’ll also learn how to transfer documents from a zip drive. This workshop is all about getting whatever file or document you want moved to the correct place.
E-mail Basics
- Thursday, March 15 — 11 a.m. to noon
Learn how to set-up or access your e-mail and create an account recovery using your cell phone or another e-mail account. Find out how to draft an e-mail, create folders and save messages. We’ll also help you access e-mail calendars, add events to alert you on specific dates, and attach documents.
Leaders Staffing Hiring Event
- Tuesday, March 20 — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Join us Tuesday, March 20 for a Hiring Event with Leaders Staffing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Leaders is new to the Warsaw area and full of exciting opportunities with local companies. They are seeking applicants for: manufacturing, quality, customer service, clerical, and more—all with the option for advancement and growth. Leaders will be screening and interviewing on the spot, so bring a resume and dress professionally. Be prepared to leave with potential job offers that day!
Veterans Employment Services
- Wednesday, March 21 — 10 a.m. to noon
Daniel Reed from WorkOne will be at the Goodwill Career Center to provide information to veterans on services in the local area, one-on-one employment help and employer resources. He will also provide information on benefits and contacts for further services.
How To Use A Printer
- Thursday, March 22 — 11 a.m. to noon
Need to print a document but don’t know how to? Want to go beyond that to find out how to scan, copy, fax, and learn the ins and outs of a printer? Then this workshop is for you! This workshop is great for anyone wanting to gain skills for a clerical or more business savvy job!
