UPDATE: Five-Vehicle Accident Injured Three At Lake City Highway, Center Street
WARSAW — A five-vehicle accident yesterday, Feb. 28, resulted in three people being transported to hospitals for injuries. The accident occurred shortly after noon at the intersection of Lake City Highway and Center Street in Warsaw.
A witness observed a black GMC Sierra driven by David Heminger, 33, Warsaw, swerve into the left lane of traffic and collide with a white Nissan Rogue driven by Andrew McCarty, 26, Warner Robbins, Ga. The initial collision caused Andrew McCarty’s vehicle to collide with the passenger side of a Honda Civic driven by Johnathan Lubarski, 28, Warsaw.
The chain-reaction continued and Andrew McCarty’s vehicle rear-ended a gray Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Brian McCarty, 51, Warsaw. Brian McCarty’s vehicle then rear-ended a white GMC Savana driven by Thomas Castle, 58, Fort Wayne.
The accident caused Heminger to become unconscious and he was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for a head injury. Both Andrew McCarty and Brian McCarty were transported to Parkview Hospital Warsaw for their injuries.
The total damages were estimated at up to $25,000.
