Lake City Toastmasters And Warsaw Noon Toastmasters Host Open House
WARSAW — On March 22, the Lake City Toastmasters club will host an open house, inviting the public to come and experience what a Toastmaster meeting is all about.
Rob Parker, President of Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, will be the keynote speaker, followed by club members demonstrating each of the roles of a regular meeting, including speaking roles.
The Open House is open to the public and begins at 5:30 p.m. in room 142 of the William Male Center Building, located on Grace College campus. Guests can register on Eventbrite by visiting this link: http://bit.ly/2F6YpC3
David Wolfe, one of the new members, explains his reason for joining Toastmasters.
“Being part of Toastmasters is a great way to build confidence and enhance my speaking skills. I can learn at my own pace with others who share an interest in improving.”
“Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills; we are excited to support our new members and grow together,” says Serena Case, District 11 Public Relations manager and secretary of the Lake City Toastmasters club. “The Open House provides an opportunity for people to come and experience what Toastmasters is all about and be inspired by our keynote speaker, Rob Parker.”
Jean Wolfe, Toastmasters Area 13 Director, encourages people to consider visiting and becoming a member.
“Toastmasters is nothing like high school or college speech classes,” Wolfe said. “If you were uncomfortable in classroom settings, consider Toastmasters. If you loved speech class, also consider Toastmasters as a practical way to take your skills to the next level. You are provided with feedback to help you improve, not a grade; you are with a group of people who want to be there and want to develop; and you set your goals and pace to achieve them. There is always a way to participate as a speaker, listener or evaluator.”
Lake City Toastmasters encourages the community to attend club meetings at 5:30 p.m. the first and third Thursday of each month to learn more about the Toastmaster experience.
