Beaman Home Gearing Up For Annual Gourmet Luncheon Fundraiser
WARSAW — Local domestic violence service provider The Beaman Home will host its annual Angels of Hope Luncheon on Wednesday, April 18. The fundraising event will be at Christ’s Covenant Church, 2090 E. Pierceton Rd, Winona Lake. Beaman Home’s staff and volunteers will prepare a gourmet lunch.
Winona Lake resident Linda Bowdler will be sharing her personal story about domestic violence and the traumatic impact it has had on her entire family. Mrs. Bowdler’s daughter, Lisa, was murdered by her abusive husband in their Warsaw home on May 23, 2007. Their young children, then ages 2 and 7, and Mrs. Bowdler were witnesses to the horror.
The lives of Lisa’s entire family shattered that day. Even to this day, they feel the impact of losing Lisa, but their deep, constant faith has helped them cope and heal.
Admission into the fundraiser luncheon is a box of any size of disposable diapers, pull-ups and/or baby wipes. The Beaman Home will also accept, and greatly appreciates, monetary donations.
Such donations keep the emergency shelter open 24/7 to assist domestic violence victims who are fleeing their abuser and have nowhere safe to go, as well as provide much needed support and services to survivors who are picking up the pieces of their lives after they escaped from the abuse.
Paragon Medical is the Angel Sponsor of the Angels of Hope Luncheon.
