Pierceton Man Arrested For Battery In Which Female Went Unconscious Three Times, Needed Stitches
PIERCETON — A Pierceton man was arrested on Wednesday, March 14, after battering a woman to the point where she went unconscious three times and needed stitches.
Anthony Wayne Pollard, Jr., 51, 9567 E. Adams Rd., Pierceton, is being charged with domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony; domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; and domestic battery with a prior conviction, a level 6 felony.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to Pollard’s Pierceton address for an EMS assist. Upon arrival, Pollard was lying on the floor with a female victim lying across his lap. The right side of the female’s head was bloody.
Pollard told officers that the female was trying to get out of bed, tripped on a blanket and struck her head on a concrete step.
EMS officials advised that the female victim wanted to speak with an officer about how she was battered. The female advised that the incident began as she was lying in bed after arguing with Pollard. Pollard did not want the female to be in the bed and he continued to argue with her.
At one point, the female put her hand up to motion to Pollard to be quiet and Pollard bit her, leaving a blood blister and causing pain. After biting her, Pollard pulled her off the bed. This caused the female to hit her head on a concrete step. The female advised that Pollard continued to yell at her while she laid on the ground injured.
The female told officers that Pollard called 911 only after she had become unconscious three times. The female received stitched on her head for the laceration.
Pollard had a prior conviction of domestic battery in 2015.
