Area Gridders Name To North All-Star Team
The area will be well represented in the annual North-South All-Star Football Game come July.
The 52nd contest, sponsored by the Indiana Football Coaches Association, is set to include a large contingent of outstanding senior gridders.
The NorthWood program will be represented on the field and on the sidelines both. Senior receiver DeAndre Smart was tabbed for the North team. Panther assistant coach Dave Wilson will be one of the assistants for the North squad.
The Northern Lakes Conference will also have plenty or representation as offensive lineman Nate LaFree of Plymouth, offensive lineman Grant Magnuson of Concord, offensive lineman Steven Worlds of Goshen and defensive end Micah Yoder of Northridge were selected for the North unit.
Also named to the North team were offensive lineman Marcellus Anderson (Culver), defensive back Brian Loudemilk (Culver Academy), linebacker Kenny Cook (East Noble), defensive tackle Atanasio Sete (Mishawaka Marian) and punter Max Chafee (Penn).
James WurtsBaugh of Concord was chosen to be one of the managers for the North.
Brett Colby of Kokomo will serve as the head coach of the North team.
The North-South game will be July 13 at 7:30 p.m. at North Central High School in Indianapolis.
