Roger D. Carey
Roger D. Carey, 84, Warsaw, passed away at 8:05 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Lake City Place in Warsaw. He was born on Oct. 27, 1932, in Huntington to Russell D. and Arlene L. (Prough) Carey.
He graduated from Huntington High School and Huntington College. He retired from the Huntington County Community Schools as a 6th grade Social Studies Teacher after many years. He lived in Huntington most of his life before moving to Warsaw in 2015.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Huntington and was a board member & volunteer for the Salvation Army in Huntington.
He is survived by seven nieces and nephews and many great and great-great neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Nancy Burchard, and brother, Bob Carey.
Cremation will take place at the Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N St. Rd. 15, Warsaw. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 23, at Gardens of Memory in Huntington. Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of arrangements.
