Warsaw Man Arrested After Meth, Syringes Found In Vehicle
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine and multiple syringes.
Steven Ray Bennett, Jr., 29, Warsaw, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On Feb. 24, an officer was traveling in his fully marked squad car when he observed a vehicle that is known to be registered to individuals with active warrants. Based on this knowledge, the officer initiated a traffic stop.
The male driver of the vehicle was identified and did not have any active warrants. The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Bennet, who had an active warrant for failure to appear.
Bennett was placed under arrest based on his warrant and a search was conducted. The officer located three syringes and three metal spoons in Bennett’s sock. Both the syringes and spoons tested positive for methamphetamine.
