WARSAW — A Mentone man was transported to the hospital after a two-car collision Friday, March 30.

Zackery W. Swope, 32, West Old Road 30 34, Warsaw, was traveling south on SR 15 when his vehicle began to drift into the northbound lane. Paul E. Welch, 77, South CR 700W, Mentone, tried to avoid a collision, but the driver’s side of his vehicle was struck by Swope’s.

Welch’s vehicle went off the roadway while Swope’s struck an embankment of a creek.

Swope told officers that he did not know or remember what happened.

Welch complained of neck pain and was transported by ambulance to Kosciusko Community Hospital.

Damages were estimated at up to $25,000.
