Mench Arrested After Pursuit
SYRACUSE — Michael David Mench, 36, 406 Turkey Creek Drive, Milford, was arrested early this morning, Friday, April 13, following a pursuit that damaged several properties and nearly struck a pedestrian and police vehicle.
Syracuse Police attempted to stop a vehicle operated by Mench at 2:11 a.m. today for a traffic violation. While attempting the stop, Mench sped up his vehicle and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit Mench drove his vehicle through several Syracuse properties causing damage and nearly hit a pedestrian and a police vehicle.
The pursuit ended at West Boston and Main streets, Syracuse, where he then fled on foot until apprehended and taken into custody by officers. Suspected meth and scheduled medication were discovered in Mench’s possession.
Mench was booked for battery with a deadly weapon, habitual traffic violator, resisting law enforcement with the use of a vehicle, resisting law enforcement – fleeing and reckless driving. Bond: $10,250 surety and cash.
The Syracuse Police Department was assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, and Milford, North Webster and Winona Lake police departments.
