Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club Will Host City Of Lakes Cruise-In And Car Show
WARSAW — The Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club will be hosting the ninth annual City of Lakes Cruise-In and Car Show Sunday, May 20, in downtown Warsaw.
All the funds raised for this event help sponsor over 100 community activities for the youth. Some of those activities are Art in the Park, Baker’s Youth Club, Tri-Star Basketball, Wawasee Junior Achievement and many more.
The $12 registration for cars, trucks and motorcycles begins at noon and ends at 3 p.m. The first 175 entrants will receive dash plaques. Enter on Center Street in front of Lake City Bank downtown.
The Lakes Area Community Band will perform a free concert on the courthouse square at 3 p.m. Bring your folding chairs. Downtown restaurants and vendors will be available to complete your day.
The awards ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. A special plaque will be presented to the car club with the most entries. Over 50 trophies and plaques such as “Mayor’s Choice” and “President’s Choice,” as well as the Best Ford, Best Chevy, Best Hot Rod and Best Mopar will be presented.
Following the awards ceremony an escorted cruise to historic Winona Lake will occur. Center Street from Indiana to Lake and Buffalo Street from Market to Fort Wayne will be closed for this event.
