Threats Investigated At Fairfield High School

ELKHART COUNTY — Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department officers responded to Fairfield High School at approximately 11:39 a.m. today, Wednesday, April 18, after school officials were alerted by a student that a threatening note of a bomb was found written inside of a bathroom.
In response to the threat, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department began working with school officials to take the necessary steps to maintain the safety of the school by providing extra patrols and extensive searches of the building.

Those who make a false report about placing an explosive device inside of a building commit a Level 6 Felony, which is punishable up to 2 ½ years’ imprisonment.
