NorthWood Track: Pratcher Paces Panthers To Title
GOSHEN – Terrell Pratcher turned in the top individual performance of the day to lead his NorthWood boys track team to the championship of the Goshen Relays Saturday.
Senior Pratcher was the high-point winner in Class B as coach Mark BeMiller’s Panthers scored 90 points to edge out Angola (89.25) for their third straight title.
Pratcher won the 100-meter dash in 11.50 and also ran on a pair of first-place relay teams. He teamed with Landon Parker, Brayton Yoder and Jenson Sanchez in winning the 400 relay in 44.04 and with Parker, Brayton Yoder and Bronson Yoder to place first in the 800 relay in 1:31.52.
Pratcher also earned a third-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 19-11.25.
Bronson Yoder won the long jump with a top effort of 21-2. Brayton Yoder was second in the 100 in a time of 11.56 and Jason Burkholder was second in the high jump with a 5-10 jump.
South Bend St. Joseph’s was third with 69.25 points with Whitko and Wawasee each finishing with 62 points.
NorthWood competes at NLC foe Wawasee Wednesday night.
Elkhart Central finished in second place in Class A at the Relays. Carroll won the team title with 102 points with the Blue Blazers second with 86.
Central senior Bernard Gilbert was the high-point winner in Class A with 17 points. He won the long jump with a leap of 21-0 and also ran on the winning 400 and 800 sprint medley relay teams.
Homestead placed third with 70 points, followed by Goshen (69) and Concord (59.5) to round out the top five.
