Dutkowski Claims Crossroads League Honor
AVON, Ohio – Alec Dutkowski just continues to pile up the honors in his stellar collegiate golf career.
Dutkowski, a former star at NorthWood High School, was named the Crossroads League Player of the Year Thursday.
Dutkowski, a junior at Taylor University, claimed the league’s top individual honor for the second straight year.
Dutkowski earned his eighth collegiate victory Tuesday as the No. 12 Trojans dominated the Crossroads League Championship to claim the team title for the third straight season. The former NorthWood ace shot a three-round total of three-under par 213 to capture individual medalist honors.
The Trojans won the team crown by a 30-shot margin, finishing 10-under as a team for the 54-hole tournament.
TU’s head coach, Cameron Andry, was recognized as the Crossroads League Coach of the Year. The Trojans also claimed five of the 11 spots on the All-Crossroads League Team, with Mitch Lamping, Trey Turner, Jeremy Ray and Nick Waskom joining Dutkowski on the list.
Bryce Turner of Saint Francis claimed the other major postseason honor, being voted as the CL’s Newcomer of the Year and earning a spot on the All-Crossroads League team, along with teammate Tyler White, Patrick Hardy and Nick Schad of Indiana Wesleyan, Sam Romine of Mount Vernon Nazarene, Bradley Sprinkle of Marian and the five student-athletes from TU.
The Crossroads League postseason awards were voted on by the league’s men’s golf head coaches.
