Breaking — Motorcyclist Survives Plunge Into Creek
WARSAW — An 18-year-old motorcyclist was pulled from a ditch on Fox Farm Road west of Warsaw Sunday afternoon after he and his bike plunged at least 10 feet into Huffer Ditch.
Officers and medical personnel were called to the scene at about 1:20 p.m. Sunday, April 29.
According to officers at the scene, the male motorcyclist, riding a black Honda Shadow motorcycle, was riding southbound on Fox Farm Road and entered a southeast bound curve at too high a speed. The motorcyclist lost control of his bike and the rider and vehicle left the roadway on the south side of the road, plunging into the creek below.
Police said the rider tried to crawl up the ditch but had to be helped out by first responders at the scene but was conscious and alert. The rider complained of back pain and was transported by Lutheran EMS to a nearby hospital.
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Warsaw Police Department as well as Warsaw firefighters and personnel from Lutheran EMS responded to the scene.
